Reality vs. Storytelling - Edgar Allan Poe on Screenwriting

Where do you draw the line between fiction and reality, especially with the modern medium of screenwriting? Poe says this:

While he wasn’t a screenwriter, Poe has a TON to teach us about storytelling as screenwriters. 

One thing I find of particular interest is how he approaches the line between fantasy and reality, especially as it relates to the verisimilitude of the story world:

If he were alive today, he’d definitely have an opinion about how “realistic” or “logical” a story should be—even for modern genres like documentary and historical drama.
